Julie Chen Moonves hosted the famous summer reality series Big Brother which returned to CBS for its 22nd Season on August 5. Chen Moonves had been the first of The Talk's hosts, hosting and moderating The Talk since 2010 to the year 2018, when she was the host. However, her true passion came when she added writer to her duties, and was awarded an Emmy for it. Her excellent talk show earned the host an Emmy. The Talk examines contemporary events, through the lens of five female hosts. Chen Moonves hosted CBS News The Early Show's early morning news program The Early Show for a decade. Before that, Chen Moonves was the CBS Morning News' anchor in addition to being anchor of the news segment on The Early Show. She was sent to Cairo after 9/11 and conducted an intimate and fascinating discussion with the father who was the main terrorist who took over the world. Chen Moonves interviewed celebrities such as Denzel Washington and Angelina Jolie. She also spoke with the former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani and Queen Rania. Chen Moonves also reported for the Emmy-winning CBS Sunday Morning news program which featured celebrities such as Jamie Lee Curtis and Paula Abdul.Prior to The Early Show, Chen Moonves worked as a reporter and anchor for WCBS-TV, the CBS-owned station that was based in New York City (1997-1999).Before joining CBS News, Chen Moonves worked as a reporter at WDTN-TV Dayton (1995-1997). In her final year of University, she served as an assistant for ABC News in Los Angeles (1990-1991) and was producer for ABC NewsOne (the network's affiliated news program). This was her first broadcasting job as a Desk Assistant on ABC News' late-night show Nightline featuring Ted Koppel. Ted Koppel remains among her favorite journalists. Chen Moonves collaborated with Koppel to produce the Columbia du-Pont-winning program Anatomy of a Riot which was a look at events surrounding the Los Angeles riots of '92.
